Faction Agent (Harpers)
Background
Young and beautiful, Lortessa was the youngest daughter of a grand duke of Waterdeep. Too far down the order of succession to claim many of the benefits of her family lineage, Lortessa was given up to the church, dedicated to become a cleric of Sune.
Upon reaching the age of majority, she struck out as an adventurer and joined the Harpers. They promptly gave her a mission: to keep an eye on the activities of rival faction the Zhentarim. Thus, she ventured to Darkhold, the fortress of the Zhentarim, with her best friend Saiah, and tried to make a name for herself as a freelance adventurer.
She soon caught the eye of an older, and very well established, Zhentarim agent named Athasen. The lonely widower wined and dined the young cleric and Lortessa took full advantage of his interest. Working her way into his bed, Lortessa had found the perfect means to perform her spy mission on the Zhentarim.
Athasen, for his part, found a lithe young beauty in his bed each night invigorating. Although their relationship began with each using the other for self-centered reasons, their friendship and affection for one another grew. Athasen began to respect her competency as an adventurer and began to vouch for her in the halls and taverns of Darkhold. In return, Lortessa has come to deeply appreciate his sponsorship of her adventuring lifestyle.
Athasen has not yet openly revealed his real identity to Lortessa, but through her spying she has begun to learn the truth of it. She now finds herself torn between her mission and her growing affection and appreciation for her lover. As she works out these personal issues, she continues to adventure across the Sword Coast and Moonsea, gaining experience and prestige as she goes.
Description
Young and stunningly beautiful, Lortessa has milky pale skin and black hair. Her eyes are a light brown, nearly amber in color. Her skin is adorned with a number of tattoos, most of them symbols of the Sunite faith, nearly all illustrating the "fire" of Sune's passion and love (and giving warning that this cleric can make that fire very real with her spellcasting.)
Lortressa dresses fittingly for a cleric of Sune. Her breastplate is cut short to reveal her midriff (and its tattoos). A studded leather skirt finishes out her armor ensemble. Although the revealing armor makes her somewhat vulnerable in close combat, her use of a shield and specialized Sunite training allows her to maintain reasonable protection. Lortessa prefers to use a staff as her primary weapon, wielding it one-handed as she uses her shield in the other.
Although friendly and flirtatious as a Sunite cleric, and certainly doing nothing to hide her beauty from others, Lortessa is not a libertine. She is loyal to her lover, Avouz, and would never dare consider sleeping with anyone else.
